About Us

The Sophisticates began as a series of supper club gatherings in early 2009 in the home of Clayton McGratty and at the tables of his favorite restaurants across New York City.  Born out of his desire to bring good food and great people together, Clayton formalized these gatherings that September to explore the constantly evolving dining scene of New York and challenge his self-trained culinary skills for select members each month.

On February 12, 2010, The Sophisticates went live online to open its membership to anyone interested in our recipes, reviews and nights out on the town.  I hope you’ll enjoy the news, knowledge and stories of The Sophisticates and I look forward to seeing you at our table soon.
